Bush League compilation album features local artists

Culture Music

In response to the recent wave of legislation restricting reproductive rights, the Bush League decided to create a compilation from various artists called “Running Up That Hill: Kate Bush Covers for Reproductive Rights,” and give ALL the proceeds from sales to reproductive rights organizations, low cost abortion clinics, and other pro-choice advocates.

The album, two hours of creative and inspired music, was released on February 4, 2014 and features two tracks by local artists from Olympia.  The compilation opens with an amazing cover by Lindsay Schief, a former member of the Olympian band, LAKE and also the band Poppet covers “Suspended in Gaffa.”  We were very excited to have their contributions to this project and are grateful to the community that supports such artists. Songs can be purchased individually or downloaded as a complete album. The compilation boasts a wide variety of prominent and underground musicians, including tracks covered by Karl Blau (K Records), Benoît Pioulard (Kranky Records), Anonymous Choir (featuring Nona Invie of Dark Dark Dark), members of WHY?, Pinback, and Dreamers of the Ghetto.
